
Who we are:
Horticulture majors and other students with an interest in plant
science.
Current members' interests include nursery crop and greenhouse
production,
landscape design, floriculture, plant pathology, fruit and vegetable
production, and viticulture.
What we do:
Monthly meetings normally involve discussion of club business, guest
speakers from the horticulture industry, and food! Activities
between
monthly meetings vary from apple picking at MU's research farm and day
trips to Missouri's botanical gardens to plant sales and even spring
break
trips to Florida. The club also participates in MACHS (Mid
America
Collegiate Horticulture Society) contest each spring. Service
projects
include landscape clean-up at Columbia Group Homes and other projects
in
Columbia as well as donations to the Missouri Food Bank.
When we meet:
Monthly meetings normally fall on the second Thursday of each month
at 6:00 PM.
Where we meet:
Most meetings take place in Ag 1-120.
