Dear Student:

Let me first express to you my position of content that you have taken the time and expressed interest in learning more about the National Pan-Hellenic Council, Inc of MU, and our affiliate organizations. As the president of the council, I have had the opportunity to experience many different things and interact with several hundred different people. However, there is nothing more valuable and equivocated as when I am involved in and observing Greek unity, both here on our campus and throughout the country. The camaraderie that can be formed within each individual fraternity or sorority, as well as with the council as a whole, is a truly an unexplainable emotion that some might even describe as magical and mystical. For genuinely it is an invaluable experience.

Throughout the history of this country, the members of our different organizations have proved to be leaders and forerunners in our communities and nation as a whole. The same has held true on our vary campus. Our students have been presidents of the Legion of Black Collegians, been homecoming royalty, received graduate fellowships, spoken at New Member Convocation, and made other well recognized changes on our campus and within the community. In addition, positions such as the Deputy Chancellor, Vice Provost for Minority Affairs, International Studies, and Faculty Development, Coordinator of Visitor Relations, and Director of Academic Retention Services are members of our council.

Our organizations have time-honored traditions that have been marveled at for almost 100 years, and they are held in the highest regards amongst organizations that were developed in this country in the early 20th century for the advancement of African Americans. We therefore, take great pride, admiration and have the utmost respect for our Greek Letter Organizations, and hope that as you interact on this campus, you may also.

The council stands on a platform of community service, scholarship, and brotherhood/sisterhood, principles that we hold is high esteem, along with such qualities as man-hood and civic endeavors. We strive to attain the highest in all endeavors and make the world and our communities a better place for us all. "Upon a common rock we must stand, otherwise we are ultimately sentenced to failure", is my personal philosophy that I have for the council, and we hope that you will soon join us in this magnificent world of Greekdom.

Sincerely:

Khandicia N. Randolph
