Panhellenic Formal Recruitment
August 12-17

WHERE TO BE AND WHAT TO WEAR

MOVE-IN DAY
SUNDAY, AUGUST 12

Most Residence Halls will open at 9am for women living in the there to move in. Recruitment check-in will be from 9am-3pm in Stotler Lounge, Memorial Union North. You will get the final recruitment schedule and find out who your Rho Chi's (Recruitment Counselors or PX's) will be for the week. This is also a time for your parents to meet the members of the Panhellenic Executive Council and ask questions. There will be parent's meeting at 4:00pm and 4:30pm in Conservation Auditorium to discuss financial aspects of sorority involvement. You will attend a Recruitment Orientation session in the evening followed by an activity with your PX's and recruitment group. Please dress casually and comfortably the entire day…we know you are moving in!

16 SOCIAL/OPEN HOUSE
MONDAY, AUGUST 13

You will visit all 13 chapters today as well as attend an open house for MU's newest addition to our sorority community. Each social last 25 minutes with 10 minute breaks in between. You will have two other breaks spread throughout the day to relax and refresh. This day is your chance to visit each of our chapters and get a first impression of our sorority community as a whole. The dress for the day is casual. You will wear a Panhellenic Recruitment T-shirt, which will be provided to you. Comfort is key! Please dress for the heat and remember that you will be doing a lot of walking! We suggest comfortable shorts and comfortable sandals or tennis shoes.

9 SOCIAL - TUESDAY
AUGUST 14

You will visit a maximum of 9 chapters today spending 40 minutes at each house. Many chapters will entertain you with skits or house tours during these socials. You will also have an opportunity to learn more about the sororities and become more acquainted with individual members. Dress for this day should be a step up from denim shorts: a skirt, capri outfit, or sundress would be perfect. For shoes, remember again that you will be walking the length of Greek Town - you don't want blisters!

5 SOCIAL/PHILANTHROPY DAY
WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 15
Five Social Day will allow you to learn more about and participate in one of the many important aspects of sorority life at Mizzou: service and philanthropy. During the 45-minute socials, you will help the members in their efforts to serve our community, and you will learn more about each chapter's philanthropic activities. This "Philanthropy Day" is designed to be fun, relaxed, and beneficial to those in need. We don't want you to worry about an outfit for this day - you will receive another Panhellenic Recruitment T-shirt. Think comfort again for shorts, pants, and shoes.

3 SOCIAL/PREF DAY
THURSDAY, AUGUST 16

Three Social Day is the time for you to decide which chapter is right for you. You will spend 50 minutes at each house and will hear from sorority members about what membership in their chapter means to them. You will learn about their sisterhood and the bond they share. The mood and dress for this day is the most formal of the week to reflect the more somber tone of the socials. Please wear a nice dress or equivalent outfit - prom dresses, formals, and/or cleavage are not appropriate. If you have questions, talk to your PX. The best advice is to think simple and classy.

BID DAY
FRIDAY, AUGUST 17

Recruitment activities will resume Friday afternoon. You will meet with your PX's and recruitment group and head over to the columns to begin Bid Day activities. Please dress comfortably again. Active members from your sorority will come to greet you and take you home - you should receive a Bid Day T-shirt from them, so wear appropriate shorts/shoes…the fun is just beginning!

FALL WELCOME EVENTS
Fall Welcome activities will also be taking place during sorority recruitment. Please recognize that you are joining a community within the larger Mizzou community, and that it is important to attend some Fall Welcome events. Convocation and Picnic take place on Thursday afternoon, and you are encouraged to attend those events with your residence hall floor, or your Rho Chi group. You will receive a schedule of all Fall Welcome events when you move into your residence hall room, or you may view the schedule of events on-line, at www.missouri.edu.
