12th Annual Asian-American Awareness Week
Catalyst: Activate the Change
The Asian American Association is a support network for the Asian Pacific Islander American (APIA) students on campus. With the need to address the concerns of those students and to celebrate culture, we have established Asian American Awareness (AAA) Week as our annual campaign to carry out these goals. This will be our 12th year is holding this large-scale event. With each year, we hope to bring more awareness about APIA issues and culture; this year is no different.
This year, our theme for AAA Week is Catalyst: Activate the Change. As circumstances arise and time passes, we consistently encounter changes in society. For the Asian American community, there appears to be a standstill in the change we aim to see--the change that involves straying away from Asian American stereotypes and the blurred line between Asian American and Asian.
As such, we feel that AAA Week is this catalyst that can bring us closer to the change we seek. We invite you to take part in our effort for change: understand the issues, explore the culture, and support our movement.
