Sisterhood in the culmination of countless friendships! When you find yourself in a room of Alpha Phis, you will quickly realize that their bonds of friendship create an amazing energy.  This sisterhood shows through in our recruitment events, social affairs and campus activities.  Sisterhood is knowing that you have not one, but dozens of women supporting you throughout your college experience.

To introduce out new members to the chapter, we hold an all sister retreat each fall following recruitment.  This helps the older members get acquainted with the new members from the very beginning.  Throughout the year, we also have game nights, ice cream socials, movie nights, and watch parties for our favorite shows along with many other events.  But, the most important thing to our chapter is the realization that no matter where we gather or what we do we will always be sisters, now and in the future. 

Here are some of the events we look forward to each year:

Fall Sisterhood Retreat
Each year, we have a big sisterhood retreat for all our members. The fall pledge class will spend an evening getting to know each other through many sisterly bonding activities. The following day, the rest of the chapter joins in the fun the new members are having. It gives all of our members the opportunity to get to know each other even better!

In past years we have gone to off-site ropes courses and the Lake of the Ozarks for fun in the sun. No matter what plans are made this year, each member will certainly have the chance to get a cool Alpha Phi t-shirt to add to their collection!

Heart Walk
This year Alpha Phi plans to participate in the Columbia Heart Walk, which benefits the American Heart Association, as one part of our sisterhood retreat this fall.     The walk will take place August 26, starting at Stevens Lake. Philanthropic endeavors, especially the fight against women’s heart disease, is, well, close to all Alpha Phi’s hearts.

The Alpha Phi Foundation, the philanthropic arm of Alpha Phi International, is the primary beneficiary of Alpha Phi’s annual Rockin’ Red Poker Tournament. The Foundation’s mission is to support women’s heart health and other fraternity-sponsored leadership programming.

Movie and TV Nights
Even with everyone’s busy schedules, we still find time to get together to watch a good flick or our favorite TV shows. Whether it’s The O.C. or Grey’s Anatomy or reruns of Sex and the City, we love the chance to pile up on the couch together!
