Welcome to the MU Student Chapter of ASME!
The Mizzou Chapter of the American Society of Mechanical Engineering is a student-led organization that enables students to experience a variety of different types of Engineering through Industry Tours, Group Projects such as High School Outreaches and Engineering Week competitions, Guest Speakers, and networking for study groups as well as career opportunities.
Throughout each semester ASME holds monthly meetings along with lectures featuring speakers on an assortment of relevant and influential topics. Each meeting consists of general updates, upcoming events and opportunities, food, and good conversations. ASME also sponsors the Egg Catapult Competition during Engineering Week every year encouraging students from all majors to design with a limited amount of material for various objectives.
There are three Professional Sections of ASME in the Midwest are the Kansas City Section, the St. Louis Section, and the Region VII Section. Within each academic year there are multiple opportunities for ASME members to attend professional conferences in these sections to allow students to mingle with professionals in their given area of interest.
