Tech Tournament

Seeding

  • one randomly chosen song with seeding based on total perfects

Format

  • single or double elimination tournament
    • 1st song:
      • lower seed picks pad
      • higher seed picks song
      • lower seed picks options
    • 2nd song:
      • higher seed has option to switch pads
      • lower seed picks song
      • higher seed picks options
    • 3rd song:
      • if both players have 1 win, a random song will be played
      • options are the choice of the individual player, but has to played on heavy for both

Rules

  • wins/losses
    • the lower number of perfects of the two players per song constitutes a loss
    • a fail constitutes a loss
    • if both players fail, the player who picked the options receives a loss
  • invalid options
    • no player can choose standard as an option more than twice
    • no player can choose a 10-foot song more than twice
    • no stealth
    • no little
    • no turning off freezes
    • no multipliers that increase the bpm to above 450 unless both players agree to said multiplier
    • no choosing a song with only a challenge mode option
    • no choosing a song on light or beginner difficulty

Light Tournament

Seeding

  • one randomly chosen song with seeding based on total perfects

Format

  • single elimination tournament
    • 1st song:

      • higher seed picks song
      • options are the choice of the individual player
    • 2nd song:
      • higher seed has option to switch pads
      • lower seed picks song
      • options are the choice of the individual player
    • 3rd song:
      • if both players have 1 win, a random song will be played
      • options are the choice of the individual player

Rules

  • wins/losses
    • the lower number of perfects of the two players per song constitutes a loss
    • a fail constitutes a loss
    • if both players fail, a tie results and neither player receives a loss or win

Format

  • each player plays one song of their choice

Rules

  • scores will be determined by a judging system
    • 3 judge panel will evaluate each performance by a set of scaled attributes
    • audience members will be asked to list their favorite 3 performers
      • this will constitute a 4th judge
  • highest total score will determine final placing of performers

2 vs. 2 Tournament

Seeding

  • determined by the seeding of both Tech and Light combined
    • begin with the highest seed of the Tech and end with the lowest seed of the Light
    • teams will be created from the highest seed and the lowest seed continuing until the middle

  • the higher seeded team will be the team with the highest numbered seed

Format

Rules

  • wins/losses
    • the lower number of perfects of the two teams' players' added totals per song constitutes a loss
    • if both players on a team fail the same song, the team receives a loss
    • if all four players fail the same song, a tie results and neither team receives a loss or a win
  • must have participated in either the Tech or Light to participate in the 2 vs. 2
  • must come up with a team name for bracketing (and for fun!)

Goofy Tournament

Format

  • each round will consist of a score pool based on the particular scoring of said round
  • each round will be a concept from a list of several chosen at random

Rules

  • wins/losses
    • after each round, the lower half of the score pool will be eliminated from the following round

Overall Rules

  1. Remember the golden rule: If you do not want someone doing or saying something to you, do not do it or say it to them.
  2. No talking to, touching or otherwise distracting any player at any time during any part of the official tournament proceedings (while tokens are being put into the machine, while the song or options are being chosen, or while a song is being played).
  3. You have 10 seconds after the exact moment the options menu disappears to alert the judges to anything that is wrong (wrong options, sudden injury, need of bathroom, etc…). After this period you must play the song as is and no rematch will be given.
