Objectives: 1) Characterize the effects of several flooding regimes on soil chemical and biological properties. 2) Determine the effects of flooding of several types of woody and herbaceous plant biomass on the production of both soluble and insoluble phenolics in soil. 3) Evaluate the effects of production of soluble and insoluble phenolics on the subsequent survival and growth of agroforestry species.
