Minutes for tonight’s HALO Meeting:
-Member Fees due to Carolina $10
(You want to pay this especially if you want to participate in the Venture Out event)-The gifts we bought for the Centro Latino kids have not yet been delivered, so we will be doing this on Tuesday, March 6th at 5pm. It would be great if a lot of us went.
-Centro Latino is located on Business Loop and Providence (for better directions, talk to Camilo)-HALO has been nominated for two awards, the Rosa Parks Community Involvement Award and the Coretta Scott King Organization of the Year Award!
-We need to figure out every event HALO did last semester, so if you can think of anything, let Camilo know-The Dance Expo is coming up very soon! It will be on March 16th upstairs at Brady Commons, 7pm. Come if you can, there will be dancing, music, Argentinean singers and it should be a fun time!
-If you are still interested in participating, or are able to help setup/decorate/cleanup, talk to Nicole Mangudo-Out historian, Becky Christ, is working on a scrapbook for out HALO website, so if you have any pictures, videos, etc that represent HALO, you can e-mail them to MizzouhaLo@Gmail.com
-Venture Out (Rock Climbing) is April 14th at 9am! If you are interested, get signed up asap
-Relay for Life is Sat. April 14th
-This is a very fun event that takes place on Stankowski and runs from 6pm to 6am (setup is at 4:30pm). It’s towards such a great cause and there will be plenty of activities, games, and food all night!
-$10 registration fee
-Register online if you are interested. It’s very easy, it took me a whole 2 minutes so it won’t take long. Do this very soon!1) Go to: http://www.acsevents.org/mizzourelay
2) Click on Sign Up
3) Read through the Waiver/Agreement and click “I Agree”
4) Click the radio button that says “Join a team”
5) Click the drop down list, find your team name (ours is Golazo)
6) Fill out all your info and submit your registration payment
7) Read through your confirmation letter, and click continue
8) You are then taken to your headquarters
-From here you can e-mail family and friends to solicit donations
-You can also ask people to join your team-Last but not least, come support the NAHJ by buying baked goods or hot chocolate tomorrow at their bakesale! They will be outside the J-School (Gillet) from 9am-1pm
