The Mission of Kappa Alpha Order

Kappa Alpha Order seeks to create a lifetime experience which centers on reverence to God, duty, honor, character and gentlemanly conducts inspired by Robert E. Lee, our spiritual founder.

The Alpha Kappa Chapter was founded on September 13, 1891, at the University of Missouri-Columbia. Our chapter has evolved throughout its 110-year existence, but we have consistently been among the very best fraternities on the M.U. campus year after year. This is demonstrated by our success in the classroom, on the intramural field, in positions of campus leadership, and in what we hold closest to our hearts, what we call the "Kappa Alpha Feeling."

Kappa Alpha Order is a company of men who are selected on their past, present and future worth. This phenomenon probably explains the great bond of brotherhood that keeps our fraternity one of the very best every year. Interest in scholarship, athletics, campus activities, leadership, and parties are very important to every fraternity. Yet, at Kappa Alpha Order, they take a second position behind that of brotherhood.

Brotherhood, impossible to convey in words, is the ingredient that makes or breaks a fraternity and is the single most important possession to the brothers of Kappa Alpha. We seek men of high character- those men who appreciate the value of brotherhood- to keep our Order strong.
