June 8th, 2003 - lib candidates

Libertarian presidential candidates Gary Nolan and Michael Badnarik have confirmed they will be stopping in Columbia during their three-day campaign across the state in June. (Possibly one or two other libertarian candidates may be present as well.) They will be on their way from speaking at the MO LP convention on Saturday the 7th to speaking in Kansas City on Monday the 9th.

They will be present/speaking on Sunday, June 8th, at 12:00 PM, in room 7 and/or 5 in Hulston Hall (the law school building). So, if you can't make it to their other engagements, this would be a great chance to meet them and be part of the campaign.

Update:  The candidates were very knowledgeable and enlightening, as well as entertaining, and everyone had an excellent time.  Thanks again to Mr. Badnarik and Mr. Nolan and everyone who came!

September 4th, 2003 - MUCL meeting

Our first public meeting of the semester will be at 8PM on Thursday, September 4th, in room N112 (north wing) of Memorial Union. To get to the room from the lobby, go straight ahead 'til you hit the hallway with the bathrooms / drink machines / copy machine, go down that hall, then go left. We should also have a sign on the easel near the lobby showing where the room is located.

The meeting will consist of an introduction of officers, an overview of the events for the semester (Boortz and Badnarik included), and an informal discussion about libertarian, and perhaps non-libertarian ideas.

Feel free to get something from the coffee shop on the way in!

The MU Campus Libertarians will be meeting Wednesday the 20th (October) at 7:00pm in A022 Brady Commons (at the big screen TV). We'll be watching two episodes of Penn & Teller's Showtime show, "Bullshit!". The episodes will be chosen by those at the meeting (I have all of them). =)

For those not familiar with the show, it's about debunking beliefs (often political) held by the general public, done in Penn & Teller's unique style.

Please come and bring a friend!
