What
is MESC? MESC stands for Mizzou Engineering Student Council.
What is the purpose
of MESC? Our purpose is:
To study reaction
to and make recommendations concerning the affairs of the
College of Engineering.
To recommend
students for membership on Engineering Student-Faculty Committees.
To recommend
standards and regulations concerning academic dishonesty.
To allocate
income from student activity fees and other sources for
the purpose of student programs and activities within the
College of Engineering, subject to approval by the appropriate
divisional administrator.
To develop and
recommend programs and activities pertaining to and for
students of the College of Engineering.
To make recommendations
to the Missouri Student Association, particularly on matters
affecting the College of Engineering.
To advise the
Dean, Faculty, and Staff upon matters they may bring before
the Mizzou Engineering Student Council.
When
and where are MESC meetings? MESC meetings are generally held
every-other Wednesday at 6:00 pm in Lafferre Hall Room E1419. They usually run from 5:30 to 6:30 pm. We also run other events for council members and engineering students. View the Calendar for more information on our activity schedule.
Can
anyone attend an MESC meeting? Yes. Since the Student Council is a representative body,
meetings are open for all concerned students to voice their
opinion; however, only MESC members can vote.
How do I become
a member? All students enrolled in the College of Engineering are
eligible. Applications are available in the Dean's Office. Applicants are interviewed by a panel of five officers at the beginning of the academic year.
