MIZZOU 4-H |

Unlike traditional 4-H programs, collegiate 4-H does not require members to complete projects or other similar activities. Instead, the focus of Mizzou 4-H is to allow members to develop important skills such as leadership and responsibility while serving the community.
Serving the University of Missouri and the community is the focus of Mizzou 4-H and that is achieved though a variety of activities. Over the last few years, Mizzou 4-H has participated in a variety of activities such as: holiday donations to the Saint Francis Men's Home, Toys for Tots, the Columbia Voluntary Action Center, and by providing assistance with the clean-up of Camp Hickory Hill--a summer camp for diabetic children. Mizzou 4-H is also involved with the "Adopt-A-Spot" program on the University of Missouri campus. We are in charge of keeping the area around the College of Agriculture, Food and Natural Resources free from trash. We clean the area on a monthly basis.
Providing assistance to the traditional 4-H program is another important function of Mizzou 4-H. Each year the organization travels around the sate to present officer training workshops to local 4-H members. The club also provides assistance at State 4-H Congress and the numerous state contests held in the summer and fall. Each February, Mizzou 4-H provides workshop presenters, campus tours, and assistance at recreational activities at the State 4-H Teen Conference held on the campus of the University of Missouri-Columbia. Mizzou 4-H also filmed a parliamentary procedure video for distribution to clubs around the sate of Missouri and assisted with the refurbishing of the Electric Theater in the 4-H Building at the Missouri State Fairgrounds in Sedalia.
