Columbia, MO- On a blustery Tuesday afternoon when the No. 15 ranked Missouri Tigers couldn’t get anything going, determination eventually helped out a great outing from the bullpen. The Tigers came away with a 5-4 win over the Creighton Bluejays.

Mizzou started off slowly. Junior Ian Berger yielded three earned runs in the first two innings before settling down to pitch 5.1 total. The offense only produced one run in the first seven frames on an Aaron Senne sacrifice fly in the bottom of the first.

The Tigers showed heart in the late innings. Catcher Trevor Coleman blasted a two-run shot off of Creighton’s ambidextrous reliever, Pat Venditte. After a scoreless ninth from closer Scooter Hicks, the Tiger offense struck again. Trailing by one, with one runner on, coach Tim Jamieson sent pinch hitter Steve Gray to the plate. Gray hit a clutch two-run, walk-off homerun to give the Tigers the 5-4 comeback win.

Up next for Missouri is another mid-week showdown when the Tigers welcome the Missouri State Bears into Taylor Stadium on Wednesday evening. First pitch is at 6:30 PM.
