| What's
Different about Pledging Phi Kappa Psi?
The demands on the
pledges' time are reasonable and proper consideration is
given to academic responsibilities of the pledges. Also,
all members and pledges are encouraged to get involved in
campus activities outside of the fraternity.
The program is based on friendship and compatibility, not
pledge subservience.
The concept of pledge
class unity is not over-emphasized. Chapter unity is encouraged
and friendships are common both within the pledge class
and the chapter.
Each pledge is considered on his own merit, others are not
judged by his success or failure, and vice-versa.
The pledge understands and accepts the purposes and aims
of the program as he begins his pledgeship. All aspects
of the pledge program are written, duplicated, and distributed
to the pledges and Brothers at the start of the program.
A Chapter retreat is held early in the semester to help
everyone know each pledge better.
The Chapter understands the goals and activities of the
pledge program, and they cooperate with and support the
Fraternity Educator, who is appointed by the chapter president
to teach and guide the pledges.
