Sacred Ways of Earth is an organization at the University of Missouri that aims to provide interested students a forum for discussion of, education concerning, and resources for the study and practice of religion, especially earth-based and modern religions, from the fundamentally indigenous religions of American native tribal cultures to the more abstract nature-base of Daoism. We also work with local specialists and university faculty to publicly enact rituals of earth-based religions, inviting both the studentry and public to participate. While focusing on magical practices (cartomancy, tatomancy, palmistry, astrology and other forms of divination; meditation, breathing, aura studies, energy manipulation, the chakras; sigils, elemental spirits and devas, gems and stones, charms, correspondences, alchemy), Sacred Ways also explores the worldview, beliefs, practices, deities and sociological significance of all religions in a mature, respectful, and altogether scholarly manner. |
