We currently have members designing the frame and suspension, which has changed since last year. After holding the first team meeting of the year we had over 50 new individuals interested in joining the team. The team hopes to grow by at least two fold to ensure that the two car system will be successful.

The team is open to anyone who is interested and individuals don't have to be an Engineering major. Also, the team stresses that prior experience is NOT required because the purpose of the team is teach individuals.

Update:

Car 17, which was intended to to compete in FSAE West, in California, was in an accident only 5 days prior to the competition. The frame was twisted from the front roll hoop to the pedals, the entire left front steering destroyed and other minor damages were sustained. However, the driver was not injured, which displays the ability of the students to design a safe car. After fixing the car in one weekend we decided to begin a two year design cycle for the team. This means that a car will be designed and built for the FSAE West competition. Then the following year tuned and redesigned to maximize performance then compete in the FSAE competition in Detroit. This will ensure that the cars are being properly designed and running at optimized performance. Mizzou Racing was very disappointed by the accident, but it has proved to be helpful because the best teams are on a 2 year cycle.
